The reverse side depicts 3 USN anchors in a sea made from corrugated metal with the inscription 1893 APR. 1 CFO PRIDE. And we all remember that fateful day when Chief Petty Officers were established by Navy General Order 409, which was authorized by an Executive Order by President Benjamin Harrison on Feb. 25, 1893.
