One morning a sweet lady mixed up a batch of dough.
She wanted to eat cookies while she drank her morning joe.
She grabbed her cookie cutter shaped like a little man.
She added ginger to the mix. She was a ginger fan.
She cut the little cookies, set them on a cooking sheet.
And then she turned the burner on to generate some heat.
Of course before she laid them down she lined the tray with flour.
She popped them in the oven next, to bake for half an hour.
Then Whoa! she spotted Santa Claus outside astride his sleigh.
What luck! to see Kris Kringle at her home on Christmas Day.
She thought, I’ll share my cookies with that jolly old Saint Nick.
But when she took the cookies out the cookies fled real quick.
