The 228235 has a 40mm case in 18-carat rose gold with a monobloc middle case, a screw-down case back and winding crown. It has a high-quality fluted bezel, a scratch-resistant sapphire and a cyclops lens over the date. The dial is white and features roman numeral hour markers as well as an instantaneous date at the 3 o'clock marks. The 228235 is powered by the Rolex signature caliber 3156 with a precision of 2/+2 sec/day, day and date functionality plus a power reserve of 70 hours. The case is paired with a rose gold three-piece-link Presidential bracelet with a fold-over clasp. It has a water resistance of 100 meters (330 feet).
